I would say for David Letterman and Jon Stewart, they had to play their roles and be themselves every night. I think what was different about The Colbert Report was that it was the first time, especially in the Daily Show space, because Stephen started out as a reporter for The Daily Show and then joined The Colbert Report. But he couldn't really be himself. I mean, he was really being himself, but he was playing a character. You know, he was playing this bombastic right-wing crazy commentator every night, and it was funny because he would also tell me that when he went back home to South Carolina, people would stop him in parking lots and think that this character was real. Like, think about what they didn't realize was that it was satire, and that was always fun for us, working on the show, it was like, wow, people really don't know that this is a joke and that the joke is directed at them. But, you know, I, I really, really root for him. I love Cayman Islands whatsapp Stephen. He's an amazing guy. He's got a good heart. He's very down to earth. He's very smart. He's very intelligent. He's very well read. I mean, because I used to joke with him that he's the dumbest person I know because he knows everything. He almost has Robin's energy all the time. I saw how hard she struggled in the beginning, I think, to find his footing when he moved over to The Late Late Show. I think what was more difficult was that the audience had a perception of who he was supposed to be, right? Like these audiences who loved him. They saw him a certain way. I think he had to create this new experience, this new relationship with the audience. And that was the hardest part. I think the hardest part was also when he took over The Late Late Show that the audience was more used to instant engagement. I don't want to wait for the show to come out, they don't want to wait until everything is sorted out before making a decision. But I'm glad for him, you know, I think he finally found his rhythm.
