L. Barcala: “We are going to execute everything that we have found paralyzed”
Among the most immediate objectives for Luis Barcala , mayor of Alicante, this year are: canceling the adjustment plan in order to prepare upcoming budgets that contemplate a tax reduction of a minimum of 5% in the IBI; and the expansion of staff, to meet the needs of the Local Police, firefighters and other municipal services. In addition, he will allocate 30.5 million of the remaining treasury to pay off current loans without affecting investments.
– Now that an initial phase has passed, what priorities have you set? – The priorities are what I had always set for myself: working for and Email Data for the city and its neighbors. Put Alicante in the place it deserves and work so that the people of Alicante feel proud of their city. There is a lot of work to do, but I am more than willing to do my part to make Alicante a more prosperous, cleaner, more accessible city. And we are here, with determination, so that the city can wake up from these years of paralysis. – You were already a government councilor in Alicante, therefore, you are familiar with the functioning of the Consistory. What projects or aspects are you aware that you will not be able to undertake in such a short time? ![]() I think this is not the time to stop and think about what we are not going to be able to do. It is time to focus on what we can do and do it, within our possibilities. The residents of Alicante do not want a paralyzed city, as it has been in recent years and neither does this government team. We have not come to be a mere transition team, we have come to work so that things in Alicante move and work better. And we are doing it. |
